So Many Trails...and Still Some Time!
The trail ride that we postponed from earlier in the month will now be on Sunday, September 7th! The response to the trail rides has been so good, that we are looking to expand the rides well into the fall, weather permitting. There's still a lot of riding to do; join us for a trip down the Santa Ana River Trail, The Wilderness Area in Heartbar, and others! Stay tuned for more information............
Just a reminder that the next arena fix-up day is scheduled for Saturday August 23 ( next Saturday!) at 9:00 am. We still need to finish the trim painting on the buildings, epoxy the floors, weatherproof the wooden bleachers, etc, etc. We really need your help badly! See you there???????
We have two Gymkhanas still on the schedule, September 13th and October 11th, so plan on joining in the fun!
Gate Etiquette at the Arena
Here's the deal. Range ranchers know this, now you will too! When you come onto ranch property, in this case our arena grounds, pay attention to the gate situation. If you find a gate closed, and you choose to go through it, make sure it's closed behind you. If you find a gate open, leave it open. The way our cows are kept and separated out there has a reason behind it. And as always, if no one is on the property, the outside fence gates should be closed and locked.

About Our Club
Los Vaqueros Riding Club in beautiful Big Bear Lake is dedicated to promoting enjoyment of horses and continuing education for our members and others, people who own and ride horses and want to get the most of their experience. We have many exciting things planned for 2008, including shows, exhibitions, classes, clinics, and organized trail rides in the San Bernardino Mountains.
If you live in the area, or near enough that you'd like to bring your horses up to take advantage of the unique opportunity to have fun in one of the best settings in Southern California, then look at our Calendar and see if there's something for you. On our cows pages and clinics pages you'll get contact info for those events. We're working on a trail rides page so you can get more detail about what we have planned for those, as well as contact information.
Some of our organized rides this year will be in coordination with our Big Bear Historical Society, and be guided historical tours of the area. The rich history of Bear Valley includes the Southern California gold rush and many Hollywood movie locations, so these rides are sure to be a great time!
